MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021 and is currently running:
✅ An Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC) in Kofar Sauri PHCC
✅ 4 Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centres (ATFCs) in Jibia LGA and Katsina City
✅ A food distribution intervention in Mashi LGA to address critical nutritional needs.
π Position
Health Promoter Community Engagement Supervisor – Mashi
π― Main Purpose
With support and guidance from the HPCE Manager, you will:
✔️ Implement the HPCE strategy/workplan with community participation
✔️ Supervise HPCE activities and teams in communities or health facilities
✔️ Uphold MSF values, standards, and procedures in all activities.
π Key Responsibilities
π HPCE Strategy & Activities
- ✏️ Contribute to the design and adaptation of the HPCE strategy/workplan
- π Lead and monitor implementation of the HPCE strategy according to timeline
- π€ Support participatory approaches with patients and community members
- π£ Organize health awareness sessions for MSF staff
- π§© Assist in design and translation of health education materials
- π Collect, encode and report community feedback and rumors
- π Support community-based surveillance, active case finding, tracing and linkage to care
- π Plan and organize community meetings with local stakeholders
- π Contribute to community mapping, data collection and reporting
π Team Management & Supervision
- π₯ Supervise and coach HP officers and team members
- π Contribute to evaluation, training and development plans for HP staff
- π Organize HP team meetings, rosters and schedules
- ✅ Ensure smooth coordination with other teams during activities and food distribution
π Mashi Project Specific Accountabilities
- π Map and liaise with key community actors (leaders, women groups, NGOs, youth groups)
- π Disseminate safeguarding messages and abuse policies to staff, community and beneficiaries
- π Ensure proper communication of MSF’s free food distribution activities
- π Support training of trainers and follow-up on HP team’s training replication
- π§Ύ Collect relevant data, track rumors, misinformation, and security incidents
- ✨ Develop IEC materials and organize post-distribution assessments
✅ Requirements
π Education
- π Desirable: Bachelor’s in Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing or related field
- π Essential: Secondary School Diploma
πΌ Experience
- ✔️ At least 2 years in health promotion
- ✔️ Experience in team management and program implementation
- π Experience in qualitative methodology is a plus
π» Knowledge & Skills
- ✅ Basic Word and Excel
- ✅ Results and quality orientation
- ✅ Team management and training skills
- ✅ Stress management and community negotiation skills
- ✅ Strong IT and reporting skills
- ✅ Hausa and English are essential
