📌 Position Objective

✅ Implement and supervise infection prevention and control programs in MSF projects/health facilities, ensuring quality of care and safety for patients, caretakers, and staff.

📌 Key Responsibilities

🩺 Standard Precautions & Hygiene

• Ensure daily implementation of standard IPC precautions across all departments (including sterilization, laundry, and kitchen).
• Provide technical supervision, training, and support on IPC using audits, checklists, and surveillance tools.

😷 Transmission-Based Precautions

• Evaluate and implement additional precautions for air, droplet, and contact transmissible diseases.

🚰 Environmental Hygiene

• Oversee clean/dirty flow inside facilities and environmental standards (bed spacing, handwashing stations).
• Collaborate with WatSan for hygiene and waste management.

🛡 Aseptic Techniques

• Guarantee aseptic care, appropriate use of antiseptics, disinfectants, and detergents.

📦 Materials Management

• Check quality and consumption of IPC materials, PPE, and cleaning supplies.
• Contribute to rational stock management during MedLog meetings.

👥 Supervision

• Supervise and support hygiene agents, sterilization technicians, and laundry teams.
• Ensure vector control and coordinate cleaning activities (IRS, deep cleaning).
• Organize IPC meetings, provide reports, and follow up on action plans.

📌 Requirements

🎓 Education:

• Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery (or equivalent)

💼 Experience:

• Prior MSF/NGO experience preferred
• Experience in OT/ICU is an advantage

🗣 Languages:

• Mission language essential; local language desirable

💻 Skills:

• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet)

🤝 Competencies:

• Results orientation, teamwork, flexibility, stress management, commitment to MSF principles
