π©Ί Role Summary
The Doctor at the Stabilization Center will be responsible for:
✅ Providing high-quality clinical care to children with acute malnutrition
✅ Supporting CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) programs
✅ Supervising and mentoring SC healthcare staff and ensuring smooth program implementation
π ️ Key Responsibilities
π Conduct morning/evening ward rounds with Nurses & Nutrition Assistants
π Supervise daily clinical management and ensure quality care
π Liaise with SC Nurses and Nutrition Assistants for patient follow-up
π Take blood samples and respond to emergency calls
π Administer IV medications and perform emergency procedures
π Monitor medicine usage, drug storage, and SC supply levels
π Mentor and train nurses and support staff on the job
π Participate in M&E tool development and program evaluation
π Collaborate with MoH, WHO, and other stakeholders
π Ensure timely data collection and reporting
π Supervise Care Group Supervisors and outreach teams
π Maintain respectful care for beneficiaries and caregivers
π Support logistics, timesheet management, and stock oversight
π Attend regular team meetings and update the Nutrition Manager
π§ Required Skills
✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Ability to work well under pressure and in team settings
✅ Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
✅ Experience working in insecure or humanitarian settings
✅ Proficiency in English and Hausa (spoken and written)
✅ Good computer and report-writing skills
✅ Knowledge of donor procedures is a plus
π Education & Experience
π Degree: Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized university
π License: Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
π Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience
π Added Advantage: Experience in nutrition intervention programs
