📝 Job Summary

International Medical Corps is seeking a qualified Medical Doctor to join its team at the Stabilization Center in Katsina. The doctor will be responsible for supervising staff, providing high-quality clinical care to children with severe acute malnutrition, and supporting CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) programs.

✅ Key Responsibilities

📌 Conduct daily ward rounds with Nurses and Nutrition Assistants
📌 Supervise patient care and stabilization center staff activities
📌 Take blood samples, administer IV medications, and perform emergency procedures
📌 Ensure proper documentation and patient handovers
📌 Mentor and train Nurses and health workers on-the-job
📌 Monitor stock of medicines and medical supplies
📌 Liaise regularly with the Nutrition Officer and other team members
📌 Participate in development and review of monitoring tools
📌 Collect, compile, and analyze program data
📌 Coordinate with MoH, WHO, and local partners
📌 Support outreach and care group supervisors
📌 Ensure respectful treatment of all patients and community members
📌 Submit reports and attend regular team meetings
📌 Ensure SC staff complete timesheets and maintain procurement compliance
📌 Safeguard all assigned program assets

🎯 Requirements

🎓 Education & Certification:

• Medical degree from a recognized university/institution
• Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)

💼 Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
• Experience in nutrition intervention programs is an advantage

🛠️ Skills:

• Strong clinical and emergency care skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• Good knowledge of donor procedures and reporting
• Proficiency in English and Hausa
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work in a challenging security environment
