πŸ“ Job Summary

International Medical Corps is seeking a qualified Medical Doctor to join its team at the Stabilization Center in Katsina. The doctor will be responsible for supervising staff, providing high-quality clinical care to children with severe acute malnutrition, and supporting CMAM (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition) and IYCF (Infant and Young Child Feeding) programs.


Key Responsibilities

πŸ“Œ Conduct daily ward rounds with Nurses and Nutrition Assistants
πŸ“Œ Supervise patient care and stabilization center staff activities
πŸ“Œ Take blood samples, administer IV medications, and perform emergency procedures
πŸ“Œ Ensure proper documentation and patient handovers
πŸ“Œ Mentor and train Nurses and health workers on-the-job
πŸ“Œ Monitor stock of medicines and medical supplies
πŸ“Œ Liaise regularly with the Nutrition Officer and other team members
πŸ“Œ Participate in development and review of monitoring tools
πŸ“Œ Collect, compile, and analyze program data
πŸ“Œ Coordinate with MoH, WHO, and local partners
πŸ“Œ Support outreach and care group supervisors
πŸ“Œ Ensure respectful treatment of all patients and community members
πŸ“Œ Submit reports and attend regular team meetings
πŸ“Œ Ensure SC staff complete timesheets and maintain procurement compliance
πŸ“Œ Safeguard all assigned program assets


🎯 Requirements

πŸŽ“ Education & Certification:

  • Medical degree from a recognized university/institution
  • Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)

πŸ’Ό Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
  • Experience in nutrition intervention programs is an advantage

πŸ› ️ Skills:

  • Strong clinical and emergency care skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Good knowledge of donor procedures and reporting
  • Proficiency in English and Hausa
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a challenging security environment
