Job Responsibilities
As an Agricultural Engineer, your role will involve:
Providing technical leadership in engineering projects related to solar-powered irrigation, post-harvest management, and alternative livelihoods infrastructure.
Supporting the design, planning, and procurement of agricultural engineering projects.
Conducting capacity-building programs for partners on small- and large-scale irrigation and water management.
Ensuring compliance with WFP’s policies, guidelines, and technical standards.
Monitoring project implementation through field visits and providing technical support.
Assisting in forming and registering Irrigation Water Users Associations (IWUAs) to guide water use management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, or a related field.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in agricultural engineering, watershed planning, rural development, or food security.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, GIS, irrigation systems, watershed management, and rural infrastructure development.
Languages: Fluency in English.
