Job Overview
MSF is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to support its medical team in Katsina State, Nigeria. The successful candidate will assist the pharmacy storekeeper in ensuring the proper functioning of the central pharmacy and timely supply of medications to other field pharmacies.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure proper storage and hygiene conditions of the pharmacy according to MSF protocols.
- Participate in physical inventories and stock organization following MSF guidelines.
- Assist in preparing and dispatching medicines to health structures.
- If working as a dispenser, verify unclear prescriptions and counsel patients accordingly.
- Participate in the reception of medical supplies.
- Ensure that pharmacy security protocols are followed and report any incidents (theft, damage, or security breaches).
- Update stock cards and inform the stock manager when items reach minimum or maximum thresholds or are near expiry.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
Education
- Essential: Pharmacy Technical Diploma.
- Desirable: Further studies in pharmacy or medical-related fields.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Desirable: Previous experience with MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.
Languages
- Essential: Hausa and English.
- Desirable: Proficiency in the mission language.
Technical Skills
- Essential: Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet).

Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary: According to MSF’s salary scale.
- Additional Benefit: 13th-month allowance equivalent to one month of gross salary.
