🌍 ORGANIZATION CONTEXT
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a non-profit international humanitarian organization that delivers medical assistance to people in distress, without discrimination based on race, religion, or political affiliation.
MSF has been active in Katsina since February 2021, currently operating:
- An Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre (ITFC) at Kofar Sauri PHCC
- 4 Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centres (ATFC):
- Magama, Daddara, Riko (Jibia LGA)
- Kofar Marusa (Katsina City)
🎯 MAIN PURPOSE
To prepare and deliver health education sessions to patients and the community in line with MSF values. This role aims to promote good hygiene, disease prevention, and inform the community about MSF services to improve healthcare access.
📝 JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will:
- ✅ Prepare and deliver health education sessions on hygiene, disease prevention, etc.
- ✅ Ensure patients/caretakers understand key health messages and MSF services
- ✅ Conduct screenings and gather data on nutrition, vaccination, births, deaths, and migration
- ✅ Identify and report medical concerns for urgent referral
- ✅ Perform daily health education within the facility
- ✅ Submit weekly reports and feedback to the line manager
- ✅ Support patients in making informed decisions about healthcare services
- ✅ Demonstrate correct use of RUTF to beneficiaries
- ✅ Assist with tracing absentees/defaulters and liaise with community volunteers
📚 REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Diploma in Public Health, Community Health, Health Education, or related field.
Experience:
- No prior experience required
Languages:
- Proficiency in Hausa and English is essential.
- Mission language is an added advantage.

💼 CONTRACT & BENEFITS
- Type: Fixed Term
- Hours: 208 working hours per month
- Salary: Based on MSF salary scale + 13th month allowance (1 month gross salary)
