🧑⚕️ POSITION: HEALTH PROMOTER IEC OFFICER
📌 CONTEXT
- MSF is an international humanitarian organization offering medical assistance without discrimination.
- Active in Katsina since February 2021.
- Current activities:
- 1 ITFC (Inpatient Therapeutic Feeding Centre) at Kofar Sauri PHCC
- 4 ATFCs (Ambulatory Therapeutic Feeding Centres) at:
- Magama
- Daddara
- Riko (all in Jibia LGA)
- Kofar Marusa (Katsina City)
🎯 MAIN PURPOSE
To implement Health Promotion/IEC activities to raise health knowledge and skills of patients and the local population.
📝 JOB DESCRIPTION
✅ Inform patients and communities about MSF and its services
✅ Deliver health education based on medical priorities
✅ Implement awareness sessions in schools, churches, and communities
✅ Assess activity impact and report outcomes to supervisor
✅ Identify vulnerable populations via data collection
✅ Report all activities, strengths, and constraints
✅ Maintain cleanliness and availability of IEC materials
✅ Participate in the creation of educational materials
✅ Conduct daily health education in ITFCs
✅ Share weekly data and findings for action
✅ Distribute admission kits and support patient social needs
✅ Lead food demonstrations and sensitization on SGBV/FGM, and psycho-social support
✅ Support lab in blood donor follow-ups
✅ Monitor and report on patients’ food quality and quantity
✅ Promote hygiene and IPC within the facility
✅ Conduct quarterly patient satisfaction surveys
✅ Provide psycho-social support to caregivers
✅ Conduct weekly MUAC training for mothers
✅ Provide patient information and orientation for new admissions
✅ Support blood drives and other health activities
✅ Any other duties assigned by supervisor
🎓 REQUIREMENTS
📚 Education:
- Certificate in Social Science, Community Health, Public Health, or related field
💼 Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in teaching, social work, or community mobilization (preferably with MSF/NGO)
🗣️ Languages:
- Hausa and English (Mission language is an advantage)
💻 Skills:
- Computer literate

💰 REMUNERATION
- According to MSF salary scale
- 13th-month bonus (1 month of gross salary)
