Position: Medical Doctor (4 Positions)

Project: Bauchi Project – Peak Response
Work Setting: Inpatient & outpatient care, working alongside pediatricians, nurses, nutritionists, and other health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, Treat & Manage Patients:

• Examine and provide quality care to referred patients (ATFCs, hospitals, etc.)
• Work in wards, emergency room, and night shifts
• Collaborate with pediatricians under mentorship

Medical Documentation & Communication:

• Complete patient medical records
• Explain diagnoses and treatments clearly to patients and families

Medical Leadership & Collaboration:

• Ensure rational use of medicines and medical equipment
• Comply with hygiene and infection prevention protocols
• Lead discharge planning and coordinate referrals

Additional Duties:

• Attend clinical meetings and mortality reviews
• Promote health education within the facility

Requirements

Education:

• MBBS Degree
• Desirable: Diploma in Tropical Medicine
• Must hold a valid MDCN license

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years (including post-internship)
• Preferred: Experience in tropical medicine, pediatrics, HIV/TB, or general practice

Language:

• English and Hausa are essential
