🎯 Job Objective

Ensure MSF is a responsible employer by overseeing HR practices, administrative procedures, legal compliance, and staff welfare in alignment with MSF principles and Nigerian labour law.


🛠️ General Responsibilities

  • ⚖️ Monitor changes in labour laws and apply them accordingly.
  • 📘 Implement MSF HR policies, Code of Conduct, and employment conditions.
  • 📝 Ensure fair and legal employment contracts and internal regulations.
  • 🗣️ Conduct regular staff meetings to inform them of their rights and any HR changes.
  • 🧾 Align job functions with MSF’s Function Grid and HQ standards.
  • 💰 Ensure staff salaries and benefits comply with MSF salary grid and policies.
  • 📑 Ensure accurate tax and social security declarations with the Finance team.
  • ⚠️ Report legal risks and manage employee claims.
  • 🗄️ Maintain a secure and confidential employee filing system.
  • 👥 Coordinate with government bodies and NGOs for HR best practices.
  • 🖥️ Manage HR system (Homère) across the Mission.
  • 📊 Ensure supervisors understand updated policies and compliance tools.

🔍 MSF Section-Specific Tasks

  • ✅ Implement HR decisions and mission-wide strategies.
  • 💡 Act as Homère system focal point; liaise with HQ and train new HR users.
  • 🚗 Conduct field visits to support project HR teams.
  • 🧹 Supervise HR Assistant, Cook, and Cleaners.
  • 🤝 Support all MSF coordination units as needed.
  • 📋 Assist during audits (HQ and external like NSITF).
  • ⚙️ Help the HRCo with various HR projects and initiatives.

🎓 Requirements

  • Education: 🎓 Degree in Administration or related field
  • Experience: 🧑‍💼 Minimum 2 years in supervisory HR/Admin role (INGO experience preferred)
  • Language: 🗣️ Strong command of English
  • Technical Skills: 💻 Proficient in HRIS (especially Homère), MS Word, and Excel
