MSF has been working in Nigeria since 1996, and this role falls under the Sokoto Noma & Emergency Response Project.
🧾 Position Summary
As a Social Worker, you will support patients and survivors through social assessments, referrals, and community linkages. Your role will contribute to improving the well-being and health outcomes of vulnerable individuals.
🧰 Key Responsibilities
- Conduct social assessments and identify support needs
- Coordinate with MSF multidisciplinary teams and external services
- Provide direct support and follow up on referrals
- Maintain documentation, reports, and service mapping
- Identify service gaps and advocate for improvements
🎓 Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Social Work or related field
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in a social work role
- NGO/MSF experience is an added advantage
Languages:
- Proficiency in Hausa or Fulani (essential)
- English (desirable)
Other Skills:
- Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet)
- Flexibility, commitment, teamwork, and result-oriented approach
