📝 Note Taker / Transcriber / Translator at Malaria Consortium
📍 Location: Kebbi
Purpose of the Assignment: The purpose of this assignment is to engage research consultants to conduct qualitative surveys (FGDs and KIIs) as part of Malaria Consortium’s efforts to evaluate a hybrid model of malaria vaccine delivery in seasonal malaria transmission settings.
🔍 Scope of Assignment
Malaria Consortium is conducting a qualitative survey to assess the feasibility and acceptability of implementing hybrid malaria vaccine immunization using different delivery approaches across 3 LGAs in Kebbi state. The survey will involve Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) with health workers and community members.
💡 Key Outcomes (Domains) to be Measured
- Acceptability: Health worker satisfaction, community and health worker perception of the hybrid model's benefits and risks.
- Appropriateness: Perception of the fit/relevance of seasonal messaging to improve vaccine uptake.
- Practicality & Sustainability: Health systems' capacity to implement the hybrid approach, including supply management and infrastructure.
- Adoption & Fidelity: Health workers and community health workers' uptake of the hybrid approach and consistency in implementation.
🎯 Specific Objectives

Training and Data Collection:
- Attend training on interview and FGD guides.
- Collect data using the interview guide and observation guide provided.
- Take notes during interviews and FGDs.
- Transcribe all recorded audio interviews and FGD discussions.
- Translate transcriptions from Hausa to English.

Deliverables:
- Transcription of interviews and FGDs.
- Translation of interview and FGD transcriptions.
- Daily report submitted to the Research Team lead.
📝 Requirements

Essential:
- OND/HND or BSc in a relevant field.
- At least 2 years of experience in qualitative data collection or professional translation.
- Strong written and verbal skills in both Hausa and English.
- Computer literacy.

Desired:
- Resident of Kebbi state.
- Mother tongue Hausa.
- Experience in participatory methodology and good communication skills.
- Innovative, motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
