Position:
Nutrition Assistant (Reserved Pool)
Main Purpose
Under the supervision of the Nurse, you will support the nutritional case management of children suffering from acute malnutrition, following MSF protocols and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Apply basic healthcare (e.g., swabbing, local treatments)
- Monitor patient vitals and report warning signs
- Prepare ORS and apply fever/hypothermia procedures
Nutrition and Hygiene
- Distribute prescribed meals and monitor intake
- Provide breastfeeding support and hygiene education
- Supervise water availability and cleanliness in the ward
Data & Reporting
- Record daily intake, patient progress, and vital stats
- Maintain cleanliness of biomedical equipment and report faults
Collaboration & Education
- Assist in patient assessments and feeding support
- Help educate families on nutrition and hygiene
- Work closely with healthcare professionals at the center
Requirements
Education:
- Literacy and sound knowledge of nutrition protocols
Experience:
- Minimum 6 months with MSF or in a nutrition program
Languages:
- Local languages required; mission language is an advantage
