Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, private, non-governmental, non-profit humanitarian organization, offering assistance to populations in distress, including victims of natural or man-made disasters and armed conflicts. MSF has been operating in Nigeria since February 1996, collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Health and local health departments on various health projects.
📝 Key Responsibilities:
- 👶 Maternal and Reproductive Health: Provide antenatal, delivery, and postnatal care, including emergency obstetric care and neonatal care.
- 🚑 Sexual and Reproductive Health: Manage cases of sexual and intimate partner violence (SV/IPV), offering compassionate, confidential care.
- 💊 Infection Control: Ensure proper infection prevention, drug/equipment management, and adherence to MSF protocols.
- 🗂 Collaboration: Work alongside the medical team and local MoH for patient referrals, case management, and ward organization.
- 📊 Data Collection: Maintain accurate records, ensure confidentiality, and participate in project meetings.
🎓 Requirements:
- 🩺 Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery and valid registration with the NMCN.
- 💼 Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a midwife.
- 🗣 Languages: Mission language essential; local language highly desirable.
- 💻 Knowledge: Computer literacy (Word, Excel).
- 🤝 Competencies: Flexibility, commitment to MSF principles, teamwork, and result-oriented.
